While I can understand why studio execs were shitting bricks over this movie, it's certainly a vastly more interesting and artful approach to an "Exorcist" prequel than the generified film originally released in its place. Visually and narratively, "Dominion: Prequel to The Exorcist" is so much stronger than "Exorcist: The Beginning", even if Schrader's concept of horror ultimately tends towards the goofy (even camp). You could tell me this is a terrible movie and I wouldn't even feel the need to argue; whatever it is, it's won a piece of my heart.
