A group of college kids who've seen one too many hillbilly horror movies cross paths with two very nice and unsuspecting hillbillies in the form of Tucker (Alan Tudyk) and Dale (Tyler Labine), conclude that they're actually murderous psychopaths and, one or two hilariously violent misunderstandings later, engage in a campaign of vengeance against the two increasingly horrified yokels. One of my favourite horror-comedies, "Tucker and Dale vs. Evil" has insane rewatch value and never fails to make me laugh with its upending of backwoods slasher tropes and wonderfully choreographed visual gags, to say nothing of the endlessly quotable one-liners ("We've got your friend!", "You guys... going camping?", "Oh hidy-ho officer, we've had a doozy of a day."). Alan Tudyk and Tyler Labine are brilliant as Tucker and Dale, respectively, and Jesse Moss does a great job as an unhinged jock literally named Chad. This is a movie that takes a simple but clever concept and executes it wonderfully. Highly recommended.
